Nettie B. Taylor Maryland Library Leadership Institute (MLLI) Scholarship

What is the Nettie B. Taylor MLLI Scholarship?    

Nettie B. Taylor was a driving force in establishing Maryland libraries as some of the best in the nation. She started work at the Maryland State Department of Education in 1948 and starting in 1960 served as Assistant State Superintendent for Libraries and Chief, Library Development and Services (State Librarian.) She retired in 1988 and passed away in 2016. In honor of her outstanding contributions of lasting importance to libraries and librarianship, Citizens for Maryland Libraries is providing funding to MLA for this scholarship. A $1250 scholarship is available for attendance at MLLI. The recipient(s) will be selected by the Maryland Library Association (MLA) Professional Development Panel (PDP) Educational Grants Subcommittee.
